Mid North Historic District
The Mid North Historic District, part of the Lincoln Park Community area of Chicago, is located between Armitage (2000N) to Fullerton (2400N), between Clark St (east) to Lincoln (west). This area was added to the Chicago Landmarks district in 1977.
There are a variety of architectural styles here, including pre-fire workers cottages, Italianate and Queen Anne style homes, as well as Romanesque stone buildings. Several historic rowhouses exist in the neighborhood as well.
Some consider this the heart of Lincoln Park, and its neighborhood elementary and high schools, appropriately also named “Lincoln” (!) are why many choose to live here. In addition to these CPS schools, Francis Parker, an acclaimed private school, is located on Clark Street, with Lincoln Park Zoo and Lake Michigan just a few short blocks away.
