Castlewood Terrace

Castlewood Terrace

Castlewood Terrace, in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, is one street long. Its entrance is on Marine Drive at 4900 N and culminates in a cul de sac just east of Clarendon. Named to the National Park Service Historic Registry in 2009, its 26 single-family houses were built between 1897 and 1927. Most of the homes are two to three story brick structures - architectural styles include Tudor Revival, Renaissance Revival, Foursquare, Colonial Revival, and Queen Anne. There are no alleys behind the homes, so the wide lots allow for driveways from the street. Many of the homes have been renovated in recent years, and they are a lovely opportunity to live in a special piece of history.
